My plant journey
14th February 2017 was my first class for BSM4503. Not really thrilled at first because its a plant subject. Never really a fan of plant subject but I kept reminding myself to keep an open mind. Who knows I might change my mind at the end of the semester.
I was given a mini project by Dr Parames. Had to chose a plant and plant it right from the seed. Mira chose to plant ladies finger. I was okay with it because I have no idea which plant is the best plant to grow in a limited time span.
Our first plant died after 3 weeks. Definitely not a good sign. I decided to give it a try again. So we re-planting ladies fingers again. For the second time. Our second plant grew beautifully. I still remember the joy when the plant develop its second leaves. I decided to name our plant, Jo. Simply because it is short and easy to remember.
Mira and I, we took turns to water Jo and making sure it gets just enough sunlight and nutrients to grow. But one day, a big storm came during the weekend. We were heartbroken when we saw our Jo broke into two. That's when decided to took Jo back to my room.
After 2 weeks of 'nursing' Jo back to health, I was happy when I saw a new leaf came out. Every evening after came back from the laboratory and classes, I would talked to Jo and told him everything that happen that day. I spent a good 15 minutes just to water Jo and talked to him. Giving him attention.
After few weeks, I was so busy with laboratory work and was super exhausted when I got back. So I ignored Jo. I kept giving him water and enough sunlight just to make sure it stays alive. After a few weeks, it started to wither away. One by one its leaves begin to crumpled and died. I tried to talked to Jo again but failed. Jo died just one week before submission.
